Payment Information
Billing Information
It is Frontenac Surgery & Spine Care Center’s policy that any co-pays or other non-covered charges are to be paid prior to/or on the day of the procedure. After your procedure, Frontenac Surgery and Spine Care Center will submit a claim to your insurance company. You will receive a separate bill from your doctor and the anesthesiologist.
Understanding Your Bill
As you prepare for your surgery, we want to make sure you understand how you will be billed for the services you receive. At a minimum, you will receive three separate bills. Depending on your specific surgery, you may also receive additional bills. The success of your surgery depends on a team effort by many dedicated professionals, including those in our center. Because government and insurance rules do not permit us to bill or collect money for team members, each member of the team must send you a separate bill and collect payment from you separately.
We realize that these multiple bills can be confusing. Our staff will do their very best to help you with questions and guide you to the proper sources of information. If you have any questions about this information, please contact the billing office at 314-993-2222.
Here is an explanation of the bills you will receive:
THE SURGERY CENTER’S BILL
You will receive a bill from us for what is known as the facility fee. This fee is for the staff, supplies and equipment we provide for your safe and successful experience here at Frontenac Surgery & Spine Care Center.
PHYSICIAN’S BILL
Your surgery will be performed by your physician. Since the physician is not an employee of the center, he/she will bill you separately. The physician’s bill will be sent from the physician’s office. You must address all questions and send all payments to that office.
ANESTHESIA’S BILL
The anesthesia you receive during your surgery will be provided by the anesthesiologist and/or a certified registered nurse anesthetist. The anesthesia staff will give you either sedation or general anesthesia and will monitor you throughout the surgery. You will receive a separate bill for these services. You must address all questions regarding these services and send all payments to that group or physician.
Out-of-Network Patient Coverage Information
Although Frontenac Surgery and Spine Care Center is not a participating provider with your insurance plan, please be assured that you will not incur any additional costs or penalties for choosing our center.
Because Frontenac Surgery and Spine Care Center is not a participating provider with your insurance plan, it is possible your insurance may send you the check and the Explanation of Benefits (EOB). In the event you receive this check, Frontenac Surgery and Spine Care Center asks that you endorse the check over to the center, and mail it along with the Explanation of Benefits as soon as you receive it.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact our billing office at 314-993-2222.
